Potion Crafting
Those with the alchemist skill can learn to craft a variety of potions and poisons. These can have a wide variety of effects. Some may save a life in a desperate situation and others may add significant spice to encounters.
The strength and effects of these potions and poisons vary widely. Crafting potions and poisons requires a mortar & pestle, clean water, and a cauldron.
The variety of effects created by potions and poisons could be quite useful in several situations. Those who like to dabble in alchemy can find themselves in possession of some truly unique abilities. Potions must be consumed, while poisons can be applied to weapons or ingested.
Every potion has a recipe. Crafting a potion takes an average of an hour and requires a place to cook the potion. A campfire is an acceptable solution. Ingredients are quite expensive. It may benefit alchemists to search for their own components in the wild. Some rare ingredients can only be found by defeating certain types of opponents.

Searching for ingredients can become a quest for the more devoted alchemist. Some in the Old World hire sell swords for the sole purpose of hunting dangerous beasts for their crafting purposes.
Players may even find hunting down potion ingredients a quick way to earn income. However, traveling in the Old World is always fraught with danger, so they best be careful not to bite off more than they can chew.
